I don't usually connect with music, but this just resonated with my soul in an almost painful way... I wasn't sure I could survive over nine minutes of a song hitting me this hard... ...and then it became incredibly loud, utterly shattering the atmosphere. Then the singer came in and further demolished the song. Alright, it's never that bad but the difference between "this is the most powerful thing I've ever heard, bordering on a spiritual awakening and the emotions are too powerful to handle" to "pretty good song" is so unbelievably massive that most of the song feels like garbage in comparison to the intro. Yeah, yeah, it's a great song and deep symbolism and math and whatever. Just not quite what I'd expected or wanted.
