Funnily enough your vid is blocked for me, but the lyrics are the same so it's fine

As soon as I posted that, I had a feeling that would wind up being the case... but for some reason I decided I was probably just being paranoid and didn't even bother checking. Sorry about that; but if the lyrics are the same, then it should be the right song, so it all worked out.

And thanks for the bump, I actually did forget about this earlier. Whoops.

[One long song]

I highly look forward to listening to that tomorrow. One in the morning seems a bit late to jump into a fifteen minute long Tool song.

...also happy thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate it and pleasant random Thursday in November to everyone else!

CPU songs

"Twinkle, Twinkle": Never sure how to react to spoo~ky covers of children's songs. I can't think of any that I particularly liked or disliked, or any that I was particularly creep-ed out by. Song is alright, I guess? Unsure if I would rank it higher or lower than "Mr. Spock's Twinkle Twinkle Little Earth":

...alright so I would definitely rank it higher than Leonard Nimoy rambling for two straight minutes about "what if we replace the word 'star' with the word 'Earth' in every song" in character as Spock. Probably. I just wanted an excuse to post a Leonard Nimoy song.

"Crash and Burn"... technically good, but I'm not personally a fan.

"Vortex Infinitum"... as soon as I saw "Robo-Ky's theme", I started preparing myself for the ordeal. Sure, I appreciate what they were going for, giving him a distorted and broken version of Ky's theme, but it's not a particular enjoyable listen...

...and then it turns out this song isn't "Holy Orders?" in the least. It's quite good! I think. I mean, it didn't have to do a lot to exceed my expectations, so I could be overvaluing it just because it isn't Holy Orders? but... eh, it's late and I enjoyed listening to it, let's just leave it there.

"Iron Chef Japan - Main Theme": Good. It helps that I like Iron Chef. I was mesmerized from the moment I first learned about it...you see, I played a lot of Star Ocean 2--like a lot, a lot. Like...I think my number of complete playthroughs of that game is in the double digits. And late in that game, there's a Cooking Contest which is blatantly a parody of Iron Chef.

Of course, at the time, I had never heard of Iron Chef and didn't know what it was. As soon as I heard about the show, it was just wonderful--it was as though a part of one of my favorite games had spontaneously became real! I know that's the exact opposite of how things actually happened, but it made the whole series feel fantastic and magical. I've seen a few episodes of the original, Iron Chef America, and even the very short-lived "Iron Chef USA" starring William Shatner.

...why was there a terrible American version starring Shatner as the Chairman? Surely they knew the show doesn't work if the chairman is a recognizable celebrity? A reality show where the host is a fictional character is one thing, but it all falls apart when you recognize who they really are with even a casual glance.

.....why does this post keep looping back to the original Star Trek?
