It's technically impressive, but I prefer Lateralus by quite a bit--almost fifteen minutes of listening to someone ramble incoherently in an overly vulgar song about how a bad acid trip made them crap themselves...that's not exactly something I'm going to listen to voluntarily, sorry to say. I see a lot of love for the track. If you try Googling it one of the first hits is going to be a rather long article about how it is the greatest song of all time, though I don't really get it. Part of it is that I don't know enough about music to actually recognize time signatures or anything, so all the talk about how overwhelmingly complex the song and its signatures are goes over my head. I can generally recognize it as sounding like it would be highly difficult to perform, but that's about it. Think in comparison to the other songs posted last night, I'd probably slot it between Iron Chef & Twinkle Twinkle. Possible I might put it over Chef if I listened to both of them a few more times, since it's more unique and stands out more. --- Marshmallow unicorns forever! ... Copied to Clipboard! |
