Rishloo

Hey, one of the bands nominated on the actual ranking! I was actually really hyped up to listen to more of them--a unique musical experience that reminded me of Mega Man 8's soundtrack on acid? That's exactly what I want to be listening to right now!

Then I clicked a song and realized I was confusing this band's name with Sphongle. Also that Sphongle song only got 116th Place in the ranking? Probably way too low there; not absolute top tier, but I figured it'd be around the top 50.

So, Rishloo, Rishloo... let me dig up what I had to say about them at the ranking:

83:

Song Name: Just a Ride
Song Origin: Rishloo
Song Link:

Nominator: NBIceman (10/15)

If this is considered to be the easiest Rishloo song to understand, I'm not sure I'm brave enough to ever click anything else by them.

[FINAL NOTES: I'm unsure if those saying the song is easy to understand are just making a joke, trolling, or operating on a higher level of consciousness than I am. Possibly all of the above.]

====================================================

Well it got into the top half, which is oddly more than could be said for Sphongle (that's not to say that Just a Ride shouldn't have been up there, more just confusion as to how the other song wasn't. Though I haven't listened to Sphongle since the ranking, so I may just be remembering it as better than it was? I'll listen to it again later.)..

The other two songs picked by Spotify were "Scissorlips" and "Feathergun In The Garden Of The Sun".

I think I like Just a Ride more than either of the other two. I'll admit there's a chance it gets a boost by being more familiar than the other two songs, but then I just like the lyrics and vocals so much more on Just a Ride. "And I've been to nothingness and barely bothered to survive" and "Splitting the line between two sides, but I am neither one" are just better lines than the other songs gave.

...also relistening to Just a Ride makes me think that song might have been a bit too low itself, but that's neither here nor there, I suppose...

Scissorlips is kinda interesting in contrast by being harsher, giving a bit more depth to the band. Feathergun...uhh...

"I spy walrus tooth in the way outside of the shoegaze revolution"

...honestly I kinda tuned out at that point. It was like, "I am never going to understand this song in the least and I would rather try a different song by this band, but I'm out of time so I'll just listen to this anyway, and I guess it's alright but definitely the weakest of the three".

Glad to see you sought out some more Kindo, although I agree that nothing else on that album comes close to touching Moments in Between.

If you still want some more of them, though, the songs that round out my top 3 for the band are October's Storm and Feeling in the Night, both of which should be on Youtube.

Edit: Check that, the studio version of October's Storm isn't on YT. Here it is.

Will listen to those Kindo songs later, thank you.
