I know that this is a troll response by pretty much everyone, but now I know why people call Smash a party game.

I can't speak for Melee, but as my first Smash, I can't imagine why so many butthurt fanboys tout this series as this great, shining example of a tournament fighter. The moveset is simplistic and the items add fun and variety to the game. I mean Melee is mostly competitive due to breaking the game with unintended tricks, so like... why hold Smash to a high, hardcore standard when it's just a fun little thing about Nintendo characters beating each other up?

I now understand Smash fanboys even less after playing this game, and I dislike them much, much more.

Eh Im enjoying it for what it is.

Nice departure from Street Fighter and Tekken 7.

Oh yeah, I'm liking it - don't get me wrong. It's not as fun as I thought it was gonna be, but I like it well enough.

I just don't get that whole chest-beating "SMASH is a HARDCORE fighting game, and SAKURAI needs to give US, the REAL fans, the MOST hardcore version instead of this KIDDY, PANDERING CRAP!" BS - like shit, the concept from day one has been pandering to kids. I don't know why people call for Sakurai to be fired because he didn't cave to their bullshit gamer wet dream - it's literally just a fun party-style fighting game.

I don't get the hype, is what I'm saying. But it's aight. Very polished, and there's a metric fuckton of single player content which I like.
