Funny, but if I meant it like that, I think I'd just be a normal furry? </.<

Aaanywho, I want to take a moment for something even more self-indulgent than usual (which is saying something considering this topic): A list of ten songs that I would nominate, if I were trying to pick songs for someone with tastes similar to mine. It was harder than I expected--I wanted to avoid having any recycling songs I'd nominated at other actual topics, which made things a bit difficult--The Stand (Man or Machine) and Fast Car were my first picks, but I already used those at Se7en's topic... and "focus tous" would be super #1 pick foreverrrr, but it would just be cheating to use songs that were actually nominated...

So... some songs, in no specific order!

==================================

1: Something by The Protomen

My favorite band ever, I have to nominate something... but since I already posted five songs at Se7en's topic, it's harder to find something to go into this slot. The Stand is my favorite song of theirs and stands reasonably well on its own, while I don't think anything else from Act 1 really does. Even so I'm going to go with--

The Will of One:

Not a conventional choice, or a good one. This track desperately needs the preceding and following songs, "Unrest in the House of Light" and "Due Vendetta" respectively. Without Unrest, you can't fully appreciate the lyrical callbacks as you hear Light's final words to Proto Man. Without Vendetta, the song just kinda stops abruptly. It's also harsher than their later work, described by at least one commenter as "grungy". The extended screaming of "Hope Rides ALOOONNNNNNEEEE!!1!11!!!" doesn't exactly do it any favors either. It is in no way a good introduction to the band.

But, I've always loved the lyrics to this and actually used some of the lines for a sig at some point. It'll never be my #1 favorite song by The Protomen, but it is the second best song from their debut album and a personal favorite, so... sure, let's go with that one.
