Frankie is about par for the course with Debra Barone in terms of quality of character. What separates the two, however, is an inherently different perspective on families. Debra is cold, hard-edged, negative. Frankie, at her core, is optimistic. Too often she gets dragged down into the drudgery of the mundane trenches of daily life, but you can always find a certain amount of grace and love she has for her family. Which do I prefer? I'm leaning towards Debra. But I'd rather watch The Middle than Everybody Loves Raymond, and Frankie is much more crucial to that show, so it's a real toss-up. --- "It is too easy being monsters.
