Topichelp me with a metaphor, what's sharper than samurai sword?

It's a really beautiful metaphor I got from this Marine officer

It's an essay about progression, it goes something like
you start off as a dull pocket knife, grow into a butter knife, then you become a sharp regular knife, then a bowie knife, and finally you graduate to a samurai sword. my english teacher said I should finish my essay on a note about growing into something that's sharper than a samurai sword.

I decided to just take the easy way out and write "So I can grow sharper than the edge of a samurai sword" or something like that

That's not really a good metaphor. Blades are made sharper by taking material away, and the only way to preserve that sharpness is to never use it. Neither trait is particularly applicable to personal growth, which is generally additive and develops into further growth when it's applied.
