Hmm, maybe you guys can help me.

I have tried to play Fallout 4, three times. I have all the DLC but have never seen any of it, as I keep getting bored on move on to another game. Farthest I have gotten, had 3 settlements that was linked and I think I was in the main city and just learning about the synths or something like that.

Keep meaning to go back and play it again, but....if there are mods that make it more enjoyable, or if survival mode makes it more fun (just making the game end if I die once....would be REALLY bad as I barely have the desire to play through the start one more time...let alone repeatedly).

I can mention a few things that....seemed to detract from the game for me.

First I didn't feel the same sense of leveling up and gaining powers, I don't think the perks ..had the same weight I guess.

This was primarily due to the second big difference for me, VATS didn't seem to ...well work like the old vats and stop time etc. I felt like many of the turn based/rpg aspects were gone, and more like I was playing an FPS (and not even a Borderlands level of RPG FPS).

Also, I think I have heard before part of the problem was I followed the storyline, which upped the difficulty quickly....I believe I need to just wander more or something. First time I played I gave up at that first factory full of enemies that was part of the main quest....because I got tired of running around doing FPS fights with them (I don't like FPS games generally unless you have alot of RPG elements).

Anyway, I love the fallout universe, loved 1 and 2, and then really loved 3 and NV. I did not like 4 (so far) and 76 was even worse *sigh*.

Are there mods I should use to make it more fun, or do I just need to learn to deal with the differences?
