A lot of the combos revolve around just filling your board with monsters that you'd normally have to tribute summon for, but utilizing special summons just completely bypasses it. It's no fun to play against a fur hire deck in duel links because turn 1 you end up with a full enemy monster zone with a huge beatstick and ways to negate your removal cards, in addition to being able to destroy either 1 of your monsters or spell/traps via effects, all done through special summoning. That's a big gripe with how xyzs and synchros worked to me as well, since those are all done via special summoning, you're only limited by the cards you've got to work with. --- I'm a greener egg than the eggs from dr. seuss ...
