It's "sort of" funny, it's "sort of" inspirational, It's "sort of" memorable. In a show full of excellent and hilarious moments, Pierce's failure speech here just really gets lost in the shuffle for me. Pierce's optimism just reads like something you could get on the back of a cereal box or in a fortune cookie. The performances are there but there's nothing here that really grabs me all that much. I guess I do like Pierce just rowing away after all is said and done. I wish there was more to say, but yeah, pretty simple scene, that's not too good but not too bad either. --- Listen, suffering is a fact of life.
