First I've heard of it. there are 8 players in one game, free for all style. each player starts with 100hp. object of the game is to be the last man standing. players start off at level 1, with 1 gold piece. each round, players are presented with a random assortment of heroes ("chess pieces") they can purchase with their gold. they then place these chess pieces on a grid-based playing field (where the chess name comes from). the player is then matched up automatically with an other player and each player's deployed chess pieces battle it out automatically. if you lose the fight, you lose some HP. after each round, players get more gold, items, experience points that increase their level (making them able to put more pieces on the board), etc. the fun of the game is from the strategies (picking the right pieces that synergize with each other for special bonuses, placing them in the right spots, selecting items for your pieces, etc) and to a lesser extent the RNG from hoping you can draft a desired chess piece that round. --- ...
