When I first played Pokemon Red, I was locked out of ever getting Mew because I didn't live in the right places, and more or less locked out of the Blue exclusives due to not knowing enough people who played. Except that I could pay for another Gameboy and a copy of Blue to fix that...! Which is why this series has has released in two versions. Every Pokemon being included in the coding has always just been a way for them to try to get you to spend more money so you can do the out of game stuff needed to get them all. I never let that influence me, so there's never been a time where every Pokemon was actually available to me anyway. Not much has changed. If anything, I think I like that the possibility exists that Game Freak will use this as an excuse to not be as nostalgia heavy going forward. I think the only way I'll be annoyed is if it turns out every 1st gen Pokemon is included. --- Meow! ... Copied to Clipboard! |
