Zeus 06/24/19 1:26:36 AM #203:	Started watching Goblin Slayer. It's surprisingly good... although it did interrupt me from watching Ash vs Evil Dead. Going to finally start to catch up on some shit because my life has thankfully calmed down a little recently. YoukaiSlayer posted... T0ffee posted... I almost wonder if it's actually vindictive or just some weird policy from early on they never bothered rethinking. I feel like they have much more energy and enthusiasm in their delivery. Of course, that might just be because I can actually understand what they're saying. Funimation in particular has been known to dub a lot of songs over the years, the quality of which varies. Yu Yu Hakusho songs were top tier; they stay in my music folder on my phone. I think we discussed this a while ago, but trying to do a half decent song dub is no easy task. Going for a near-direct translation, which I've seen several of my favorite artists do, rarely works. You've got to make sure it sounds natural in English, while also staying true to the spirit of the original lyrics. This is one of my favorite songs in either English or Japanese; they're basically apples and oranges to me.
