It would be highly counter-productive for Iran to do such a thing, and they'd have 0 interest in doing so. It's still unclear what was at work there, but there is no actual proof. If Iran wants to pull a gigantic, yet perfectly within their sovereign prerogatives, dick move and give a monumental short-term finger to the West, all they have to do is close down the Ormuz straight for a week.
