Look at the crowds and you'll see it's 90% made up of the typical smark wrestling nerd kind of fan when before you'd get a wider range of people. Wrestling promotions have stopped treating wrestling like a simulated athletic contest and concentrate on it all being just a show put on by performers. The indys focus too much on flashy moves and being funny and taking the piss out of wrestling itself. WWE is too set in their ways and don't have to try because of the lack of any real competition and getting all that Saudi and Fox money. I hope AEW can shake things up, but I also hope they don't just try to cater to the typical wrestling crowd like with that stupid battle royal on the pre show.
