The people who go on them are even paid an appearance fee if I remember correctly. As for the protection plan thing, it's a smart idea if you're somebody who tends to drop or break shit constantly. The only time I think I've ever bought one of them was on an original Xbox just before they stopped production. Two years later (long after they were no longer in production) I went back in to cash it in and they gave me a gift card for the price I paid. So it's like I got to enjoy the system for two years and then got a refund. lol --- I'm not loyal to any company or brand, especially the Cult Of Houser(GTA games) or Sony(PS3/PS4/etc).
