IRL: you get only "1 life to live", no take backs, no do-overs, no extra-lives.

The cost of failure could be "Your Life", "Permanent Disability", "Disfigurement", Loss/Injury of a loved one, etc.

You have 1 type of tool that levels the playing field between you and a Assailant.

Before the invention of the modern FireArm, all you had to do to get an advantage over somebody in a personal altercation was have a bladed implement, have more muscles, more martial arts training, more friends to help you win, more money to hire goons.

Now, no matter what the situation, you have a far better chance of survival and turning the tables on the assailant.

Yet they want you to surrend that ability to make themselves feel safe at the expense of your personal safety.

They tell you to rely on the police, the same police they have issues with, dislike, distrust, and hate on and say they can't be trusted.

The same police that the SCotUS has ruled that they don't have a specific duty to defend you as an individual, just society at large. So your safety is literally in "YOUR OWN HANDS". Don't expect the police to do something for you specifically.

You'd be a fool to disarm yourselves when you can have the choice to arm yourselves.
