This scene is a pretty great example of how you can tell a compelling just using 16-bit graphics. Despite the goofy looking sprites and having only readable dialogue, the game draws you in with compelling music and fantastic character motivation. It always runs the risk of being too cheesy, like when the four crystals zap the party, but Galuf's ultimate triumph is an uproarious celebration of the human spirit. I also love how gameplay segregates into this, positioning Galuf as invincible in the presence of this great dark knight, pushing the boundaries of the story even more. It ends on a sad moment, but great build-up makes it so Galuf's sacrifice wasn't wasted.

Listen, suffering is a fact of life. Either you learn how to deal with that or you go under.
