I have to say, some of the logical leaps you mentioned are definitely pretty glaring on a rewatch. I think why the scene (and movie in general) worked so well for me is that its whole gimmick, and generally strong execution thereof, left me focusing on the ride rather than the illogical plot details. I agree with where you placed the Zootopia scene.
