Age of consent is actually just for sex .

To get married most states require you to be 18. However there is a minimum age at which you can get the consent of the parents to marry their son/daughter. This minium age is usually the age of consent but in some cases is as low as age fourteen.

Just curious... once you marry someone under the AOC with parent consent, is it now legal for you to have sex with the minor assuming he or she gives consent?

I would assume so, if not that would probably cause some conflicting issues.

Example of someone today who was over 18 needed to marry a 14 year old to avoid going to jail was actually the grandfather on dick dynasty. I know people cringe at the thought of this and like to default to thinking it's always predatory but hey, they are still married to this day and are 70+ years old now so good for them.
