Write-Up: Is anyone surprised after hearing this song that Darius Rucker would eventually become a Country star? Not me. The twang in his voice says it all. He was clearly in tune with his interest in heartland vocalization pretty early on imo. I remember when this was a big hit though and it played on most radio stations. This was actually the 2nd song from Cracked Rear View to climb the charts but unfortunately never made it to the top although it did get very close. The album would go on to become one of the best selling albums of all time and was for sure Hootie's best of their careers. Even though there are 4 people credited with the writing of this song it was Darius that once claimed he wrote the song in a single sitting after a short bout of musical meditation. (He listened to "She Talks to Angels" by the Black Crowes supposedly and some Bonnie Raitt) I wonder what the rest of the band thought about that statement when he made it 14 years after the songs' release. ====================================
