The progression of the weapon choice and Butch's subtle actions and facial expressions with each weapon really brings the scene to life, making it more meaningful when Butch finally sets his eyes on his final choice, the Kill Bill special. You can just tell there's a lot going on underneath despite at first glance being a simple, gut choice. With the choice of katana, Butch commits himself to a representation of honor, reflecting his choice not to leave Marsellus to a undignified end despite Marsellus being after him.
