It's also both an intimate moment and yet one with stakes that are encapsulating so many massive things. A vice-president. The Navy. Supreme Court nominations. Assassination. It's amazing to see two seasons of tribulations finally break this man and how he responds to it. I think the cool thing is that they treat Christianity with a respect here even in Bartlet's most faithless moment. The fact he speaks to God in Latin.
