Now that I'm home and in front of a keyboard, I'll try and add more thoughts on how this could be formatted.

--8-10 is probably the ideal number of participants. 6 or 12 is probably doable. Anything more or less is probably not worth it.

--For leagues, I'd probably start with whatever the default scoring system is and open the floor to a vote on adding or removing certain statistics.

--To diversify overall scoring and make winning something more valuable, I'd probably add extra points to first place. For leagues, I'm thinking extra points for the regular season winner and also extra points for the playoff winner. For multiple week pick 'ems, I'm thinking extra points for winning a week (nothing too crazy, though) as well as extra points for winning the entire competition.

--I think I'd want to make certain competitions more valuable than others, maybe some sort of tier system. My logic is tier-based. For example, winning a fantasy football league generally requires more thought and attention than pick 'em league, at least when you are playing relatively casually like we are. I'd tier it as Leagues, Pick 'Ems, and Side Competitions (those would be the one-offs).

--In the event this became a multi-year affair, the marathon would begin at the start of Fantasy Premier League (since Fantasy Football is the most popular fantasy sport but Fantasy Premier League starts about a month before it) and end with the conclusion of Fantasy Baseball, at which point the winner of the marathon would be declared. Once the overlap with baseball and Premier league hit, we'd just have two different marathons happening until Fantasy Baseball ended. Maybe I'd try and find a softer spot in the fantasy sports schedule if need be.

Any other thoughts? If everybody who has posted in here so far is interested, that gives us 5 for the moment. I know I said committed people are best, but as long as you just don't forget about your teams and remember to check in on this once a week, you are probably fine.
