Hilda had better get some amazing characterization in the GD route, because from my limited exposure with her she's extremely unpleasant.

Her support with Marianne is really what sold me on her.

Now that I'm a good chunk into the time skip, I can't help but find myself wishing that the monastery had been destroyed at the end of Part 1. The game flow just doesn't seem to benefit from having it around after that. It's amazing how well paced your army growth is in the first part; you get everyone into their advanced classes just in time for the skip and in a lot of ways it feels like you've finished raising your students. But now everything just keeps going like it did and I'm swimming in activity points that really only go toward spamming meals for support and motivation so I can spam instruction and slowly turn A ranks into S ranks.

It just doesn't seem worth having in exchange for how much better the story pacing in this stretch could have been. This by itself might be what ends up having this game take second place to PoR for me.

I'm actually glad that the BE/BL routes are shorter than GD, because the GD post-skip was really painful in between chapters. I straight up just rested some weeks because i didn't even care to do much of anything with the monastery. After a couple chapters I thought to myself, it would be funny to train Raphael on horses, starting from 0, just to see if I can make him a great knight by the end. And I accomplished that, and still had time leftover. It was absurd how empty and soulless it got to be.
