The whole point is that Edelgard is nothing but a power hungry tyrant, CR can fool someone who hasn't played the other routes that she's a freedom fighter (a freedom fighter who invades other nations) and that the church is run by a crazy dragon, but the big twist of the game is that the church isn't really evil and there's no justification for Edelgard's actions.The only thing that really bothers me is that CR ends with a "and Edelgard took care of TWSID and everything was fine" when at the end of CR she's still clearly being manipulated by them
Yep I completely agree. She is definitely the villain of the game on all routes. Even her own. But it's the prospective of each route that is important. I wish the marketing of the game wasn't so heavy on Black Eagles tho. I think it was said somewhere that 45% of people did BE first and I bet most of them did CR. I feel like that is the route your supposed to play last. ---
