I don't think anyone claims Bethesda did. Although Fallout only really became interesting to me when the 3rd came out. This is probably in part to Bethesda. Well Bethesda also killed the series with FO4/FO76, I think they just got lucky when they changed the formula to be a 1/3rd person action rpg adventure series. I don't know what's wrong with the higher-ups at Bethesda but 76 has been a non-stop explosion of terrible decisions and design flaws. You'd think that they would have gone 'okay. This game is dragging our rep through the gutter right now. We need to either shape up and at least act all nice and friendly and pro-player for a bit if we don't want to fail or ship out and cut our losses.' And it's not just FO76 either.
