Eventually i'm gonna have a nice big Koi pond on my property, I have the land to do it I just need to figure out the heating element when it freezes during the winter. I was thinking maybe winter birdbath heaters on the bottom, but I don't know yet if the metal is safe for fish. A lot of heavy metals can be toxic to them.

I've kept aquariums my whole life, i've had saltwater tanks and even a few corals and whatnot before, so I get the chemistry. It's the extreme weather changes that are holding me back. I may do some larger species of goldfish as a trial run, they are a lot less expensive than Koi are.
