What it would do is placate the establishment wing of the party which would likely throw a hissy fit if the ticket was Sanders/Yang. Hillary has too much failed candidate (and other) baggage to be a "good" VP pick, but Yang is straight up a bad one. Agreed that he doesn't need a double outsider, but Hillary is a symbol of The Swamp and would torpedo his campaign.
