I mean you are probably going to have to reset it if the driver/windows update didn't fix the problem. It really isn't worth all the time to figure out what exactly is the problem if it isn't a update or heat issue so a fresh install should fix the problem unless it is hardware related. Just save the files you want to keep on a backup drive or USB stick, fresh install windows deleting everything and re download stuff.
I feel like it is worth the effort so I can at least try to prevent it from happening again if I can. or I know for next time
