I would actually say Xillia 2 is one of the least "embarassing" by your criteria since it drops most of the usual fluffy anime tropes in exchange for a very tonally different story than the rest of the series that gets pretty dark and (relatively) mature at times.

But also there's a scene where a giant flaming gay bird flirts with one of your party members so idk what you want out of this, man
