It's reacting to a pandemic phase, not trying to stop one. Trump's reaction is shit but any issues right now probably aren't due to it. It's the lack of action to save face for China that hindered us far too much. Nothing you can do about it. Once it broke Chinese containment, it is impossible to stop. Probably every single country in the world has it now whether they realize it or not. How you gonna stop the transmission barring a complete shutting of borders.
