the clip isn't doctored at all but it is purposefully cut there to not showcase how absolutely nothing he does changes and he continues talking about the same thing, in the same kind of language, without any shift in tone. it's purposefully done to drive an entirely different narrative.

basically corrik and redsox are right that it's purposefully making outrage out of you. i can get how you'd interpret it the wrong way but that's because what's being presented to you is wrong and the idea is explicitly being put in your head. they ain't gaslighting you as much as trying to tell you that you're being trolled.

see, this is a good example.
when trump is joking, he'll change his mannerism, he smirks, his tone of voice changes, etc. he's done jokes in these conferences too - every day at that - and there's a clear shift that happens.

here nothing changes and he just keeps going, same old.
