MLB Lofa Tatupu - Yes

It is really hard to get Pro Bowl recognition as a LB, so I'm not holding that against him. Tatupu finished his career with a Rookie of the Year, LB of the Year, and Defensive Player of the Year award, tied a B8NFLL record, and he retired 1st or 2nd among active players in most defensive stats at LB. He accomplished virtually all that he could as an individual and is more than worthy of a spot in the Hall of Fame in my eyes.

MLB Gerris Wilkinson - No

Much like Eric Weddle last season, I suspect his career will be a surprise to nearly everyone. The fact that nobody bothered to sign him in S12 and still ended high up there in some stats is surprising to me. However, other than tackles, he didn't light up the stat sheet that much, and while I said it is tough to get Pro Bowl recognition as a LB in the league, he didn't get any recognition whatsoever, and I am pretty confident he was never an award finalist. A good career for a former 3rd round pick who bounced around the league, but he's not a hall of famer in my book.

CB Adam Jones - Yes

CBs are probably the toughest to gauge of how good they are, but with Jones averaging over 2 INTs a season, Pro Bowl nods with both franchises that he played for, and being able to maintain an 80+ rating for his entire career, I feel like that has to count for something. A spot in the Hall of Fame? Maybe not for some people, but I'm willing to set him as the benchmark.

SS Thomas Davis - No

He has some nice counting stats for being able to stay healthy (195 out of 208 games) during his career, but he was named, and ultimately won, to the Breakout Player of the Year award in his final season. He was able to become the first DB to win Defensive Player of the Year, but he was an above-average to good starter for the other 12 seasons of his career. He definitely carried the Falcons secondary the past several seasons, but that simply isn't enough for me.

SS Michael Huff - No

Huff started almost 90 fewer games (thanks to being a career backup in Miami) than Davis, but blew past him in the INT department despite not seeing the field on defense anywhere near as much. Huff was the DB of the Year winner before Davis, so he does have some hardware, but because he played only on certain packages in Miami, his sack, FF, and FR stats just aren't at the levels (even if their rankings are relatively nice) that I am looking for in a candidate.
