I'm not worried about connecting to other kids based on television they watch. And again I don't understand how it's cringe to teach people how to drive stick shift. You say I'm forcing them? Wouldn't it also be forcing them to learn how to drive auto? I already know their aunts and uncle slip them candy, and their grandma buys McDonald's. Books can teach that stuff, but kids can learn it from tv before they even know how to read. Driving automatic is the norm so it makes sense for everyone to learn that. Manual is pretty much outdated. The only reason to learn it is if you really love cars. Most people won't ever need to do it.
