Anyone can make a fake Facebook or use a similar looking badge to trick even other cops (probation, parole, Co, etc). What you did was still wrong. I'd slap you with 3 action reports and 3-5 days unpaid/paid leave to think. You still acted at the behest of the beholder and not in civic duty. You should've had your spare/backup in your car too instead of needing to holster. Also, you mentioned no identification beyond the badge which is a serious matter.
