Binary Sunset
Like Leia's hairbuns, having a space sunset is a brilliant move. It gives us something familiar that everyone has seen a billion times -- sunsets -- and blends it with something unfamiliar. This establishes that we're not in Kansas anymore, kids. That shot of Luke watching the sunset while being frustrated over his boring life really says everything.

The Real Reason Dooku Was Horrified
This is so dumb. I'm sorry, but it is. I want to highlight a comment on this video
Do we really need an explanation as to why someone was horrified to have their hands cut off?
Like, the idea that Dooku is racist against cyborgs is incredibly silly as it is, given that he's on a ship commanded by General Grievous, but the further idea that he's horrified of becoming one at that particular second is even more absurd. In the movie itself, Dooku is clearly just "oh crap my hands I can't believe this."

George Lucas Ending the OT with RotJ Because He Didn't Want to Make More Star Wars Movies
This is both good and bad. RotJ was a step down from ANH and ESB, it was where Lucas' terrible ideas started to take over. Ending on RotJ was like ending Star Trek TNG on season 7 -- juuuuuust as things were beginning to dip, but before they could get completely embarrassing. But I think everyone would have preferred more of the OT crew to what we got from the Disney movies, so... I don't know.

Neutrality Toward the First Order
Honestly, I can sort of buy it. If like Russia revealed its super nuke weapon and blew up the United States and Western Europe before anything could be done, I can imagine everyone just shrugging their shoulders and accepting Russian hegemony.

Star Wars: Galaxies
Never played it, sorry, so I'll move on to...

Star Wars: The Old Republic
I think... I'm gonna say that no one was excited for KotOR 3 to be an MMO. This became like a huge deal, I remember 4chan and Reddit talking about the TORtanic's imminent demise against WoW. What happened instead was that TOR was just sort of a general disappointment, got an expansion or two, and went F2P.

I played this game, and let me tell you, anyone who says it's like WoW is lying. It's not like WoW; it is WoW. It is WoW with a Star Wars skin. I especially love the abilities named things like Dark Charge or Dark Heal.

I mean, look, the idea of classes based on archetypes from the movies is okay, and the idea of giving them all different storylines they follow while having universal side quests is clever. I'm not sure about some of the options they chose ("I want to be a trooper, like the hordes of random guys who die instantly!"), but fine. It should be noted that I played after the change that lets all companions perform all roles, so to me, the game was incredibly easy even playing solo.

I only played the Sith Inquisitor. It was fun in a stupid "I'm going to lightning shock everyone, even people who help me, because it's funny" way, but there's no complexity to the storyline at all. You're a guy (or gal) who eats ghosts. Okay? It was kind of funny when my master's ghost took over a monster's body, and both begged me to help them retain the body and banish the other to being a permanent passenger in eternal agony, that's weird and gross and very Sith-y. I've heard the Imperial Agent is the best storyline, but I never bothered playing it, sorry.

Droids
Did you know that Star Wars has the copyright on the term "droid?" BattleDroids had to be renamed BattleTech because of this.

It's clear that in Lucas' mind, droids are just a storytelling device. They're just pieces of technology, but with personalities, so they can bungle around and do silly things. I don't believe for a second that he ever thought about the implications of this, even as he wrote the scene where a bartender is racist against them and throws them out of his bar. It's weird, too, because throughout the OT, Threepio gets abused constantly, and we're clearly supposed to sympathize with him, but the movies are completely uninterested in exploring robots as anything except tools. The PT is even guiltier of this.

That Solo movie tries to have a droid rights activist, but has no idea what it's doing with her, so she eventually just dies and merges with the Falcon (ugh). So, so sloppy.
