(Make sure you can access the equipment first, though; not much point in making someone an Archer until you can buy a bow for them.) See, one of FFT's quirks is that, when any of your units gain JP in battle, your other deployed characters also gain a bit of JP for the same job. Units will even receive this "spillover JP" for jobs they can't yet access! So if you keep a single Squire around - doesn't even have to be the same unit all the time - all your other characters will gradually build up Squire JP to spend on Squire abilities. And in the meantime, you can be experimenting with jobs that are significantly more interesting than Squire. --- I don't like this duchy.
