Yeah, not having permanent access to my games and having the devs/publishers be the sole people to control whether tomorrow my games are still playable is great.

To me, physical died when games started requiring day one patches. 90% of the time you buy a game, pop in the disk, and spend the next 12 hours downloading all of the content required to make the game playable. And if you don't have internet at all, you would be lucky to have anything other then a $60 - $70 demo.

Do I miss being able to unwrap a game, pop it in my console, and start playing it within 5 seconds? Absolutely (although I still kind of get that with Nintendo games which is why I buy them physical), but those days are long gone. With the way gaming is nowadays, it just makes sense to switch to digital, especially since I can pre-load the game a week before and start playing it the second it is released.

I am a Contract Software Developer. What does that mean? I don't know, let me know if you figure it out.
