There's a weird black smoky effect at the corners of the screen that make it seem like a dream, but maybe it's the effect of the Great Twilight or something? Did their memories get altered to forget about Rean? This is all way too confusing.

Celine's voice sounds different, too. Oh right, I had forgotten that Musse was in cahoots with Vita. So much about CS3 that I've forgotten! That would explain why she's not with everyone.
