Seriously though, my uncle was (and is still but I think the past... decade? has worn him down quite a bit) a huge Jets fan so it just rubbed off on me as a little kid. And from there it really is some kind of twisted sense of loyalty or something, idk. It's really the only sports case for me.

Baseball I never really cared for when I was younger. I was more a contrarian who would root for the Mets or Red Sox because I was surrounded by Yankees fans all the time. In basketball I'm a fan of players more than teams first and foremost (whereas in football while I'm still a fan of certain players my loyalty to the Jets takes priority.)

never got into hockey.
