The plot's implications always struck me as strangely dark but it's such a low-stakes affair that it almost doesn't even matter. The animation is pretty cheap looking and despite the song being popular this animated special is non-essential. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 93/100 Perhaps the greatest non-horror Christmas movie ever made. Every joke is a riot, it's an absolutely perfect tear-down of the Christmas season while still reminding you of what makes it so special every year. It gets so out of hand and disastrous that it feels like it could off the rails at any moment even if you seen it a million times. I also love how relatable it is, I think we can all find some shred of truth in here no matter what kind of family you have.
