So you would attack 3 times, then dodge and get behind them to make sure you can do the full combo. This was easily abuseable for the entirety of the game. 4 definitely fixed a lot of the issues the combat had in 3. I must have figured this out myself while playing, because I honestly don't remember the blocking being so bad in Y3 and I do vaguely recall dodging behind enemies constantly. Definitely also remember it not working that well in Y4.
