Well obviously they are better

The technology improved as did game design

But Oblivion's faction quests are still better than Skyrim's

And anyone who claims unmodded Morrowind is the best, hasn't played it in over a decade. It's like New Vegas. IT has scores of online cheerleaders with rose tinted glasses the size of Ben Nevis but not a one of them has actually played the game since they were a kid.

If Morrowind came out today everyone in this topic would hate it
@UnfairRepresent
I didn't do an actual playthrough of Morrowind until this year. Played Oblivion and SKyrim first. Like, the last six months and I'm still playing. It is only after truly playing it for more than an hour and a half that I have realized Morrowind is definitely the best one.

And honestly I don't know what you mean. New Vegas and Morrowind are the best ones among these games because their writing and choices/roleplaying opportunities are stronger. Bethesda's games from Oblivion onwards are truly amazing open worlds. But as far as RPG stories, they're lackluster, and we all know it. And that's okay, most games are. But among the top tier AAA RPGs, these games don't make it up there based on their writing.

I mean, it sounds like you are making your judgements purely on graphics and mechanics. And those are hugely important. But the most important thing in an RPG is its writing, and how much agency it gives the players. That's why we love MW and NV. And I don't dislike the other games, but they don't provide that same agency.

I like how you're so angry at furious at me telling the truth because you're such a big superfan and even you can't play it without Mods.

Mods which are still getting updates today.

So thanks for proving my point.
Lmao, I play with no mods and have been doing so for months. But even then, the Tamriel Rebuilt mod they mentioned is basically just an expansion pack. It is mechanically and even graphically exactly the same (has new art for the expansion areas, but its fidelity and style is the same). But it doesn't matter, because the writing and roleplaying opportunities in Morrowind are amazing.
