Since, your video card is a bit weak, you may want to consider a 1080p monitor, since you will get about 1/2 the fps at 1440p compared to 1080p and you generally don't want to be dipping bellow 60fps. Plus there are weird scaling issues with 1440p sometimes, since it is a weird stop gap resolution similar to 720p.
Thank you for the insight. I can understand how GPUs will be strained more at higher resolutions but can you please elaborate bout the scaling issue with 1440p and 720p? How noticeable is this?

On an unrelated note. My first monitor in the late 90s/early 2000s was either a 15" or 17" CRT. I cannot imagine using that nowadays. I played World of Warcraft yay back and with the amount of addons on my screen, I barely saw what is happening during a boss fight.
