I went to a Halloween get together last weekend. Not a huge thing, there's still a pandemic going on, after all. I went dressed as Kareem Abdul Jabar(just his jersey I've had for like 15 years, and some yellow basketball shorts I picked up), and pretty much everyone at this get together(every single person was Mexican, I was the only non Mexican there) was telling me that I should've dressed up as Yao Ming.

Now, most people here should know this, but I'm Asian. So they were basically saying that Asians should dress up Asians only? I didn't really think much of it, but some of my coworkers and friends have been telling me that those comments were pretty racist.

So what do you people think? Do you agree with me in thinking that it's not really a big deal, or do you people think it was actually pretty racist?
