I think the pattern that's more important is that Luffy doesn't win right after the rest of the crew does. He either outright loses (Croc) or fails to defeat his opponent (Enel) and has some moment where he's on the backfoot and needs assistance (Lucci, Doffy). I also believe in the the theory that we'll get a full SH vs. Kaido or Big Mom portion.
