The director openly disliked the manga, which was VERY good. I go back and forth between it an Promised Neverland S2 for all time worst adaptations. Plenty of series trump both in technical embarrassment, but the incompetence on display when actually having resources to avoid such an issue makes it worse. Umineko at least has the benefit of being hilariously bad, making fun of it alleviates how awful it is. The Neuro anime is up there to.
