For RPGs i gotta say that Atelier Ryza 2 goes pretty hard.

The combat system at its basic level involves a lot of micro management and gives you a ton of options on how to do things.

Most basically, you can just smash everything with your weapons, and defend when needed.

Then add in magic skills that use MP like most RPGs.

Then throw in the guarding system that lets you take hits for a weaker character.

Then you have item usage (that requires set up before hand, which is a very deep system in itself that has literally thousands of custom items you can make to fit your needs) that requires you to meet conditions to use.

Speaking of, there is the tactics level that is built and expended during a battle that allows you to do combo moves. (there is also a "Premptive strike" systemfor most battles that adds another level to the combat)

THEN you add in the ability to swap characters to a reserve party member in a battle to preform a combo move and get a fresh character in a fight.

All of this going on in a real time battle. It gives you several ways to tackle any regular battle. Much more complex than any RPG that i can think of.
Damn ( O_o)
